Pencils of Promise

Pencils of Promise is an NPO dedicated to building schools in underserved areas across the world.

As a kid, the most exciting part of going back to school was heading to the store with my mom to get school supplies.

However, not all kids have this same privelidge of going back-to-school shopping—nonetheless a school to go to at all.

For the 2013 One Show Young Ones comeptition, we designed a campaign to take over a supermarket and replace certain items with campaign materials. Parents would be exposed to branded messages throughout the store and have the option to round up their totals at checkout to contribute to the program. By connecting donors with recipients, we aimed to establish a human connection that is often lacking in donation campaigns.
